Carolyn is extensively trained and certified through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies in the German Vodder Technique of manual lymphatic drainage, including in advanced techniques for the management of post-operative and plastic surgery procedures. As a breast cancer survivor with lymph node removal, she has learned the importance of maintaining a healthy lymphatic system with ongoing manual therapy to limit the chances of developing lymphedema.

What is Lymphatic Drainage?

Lymphatic Drainage is a rhythmic, pumping style of massage to relieve swelling caused by a blocked lymphatic system. When your lymph system is blocked, this can lead to edema (general fluid retention or swelling) or lymphedema (swelling due to a specific area which is blocked) as well as pain. Lymphatic drainage offers improved pain management, scar tissue damage, and supports overall recovery after invasive surgical procedures.

Other signs your system may be blocked include: sluggish bowel, fluid in the ear, brain fog, lack of energy, swollen lymph nodes and recurring illness. The main function of your lymphatic system is to maintain fluid balance throughout your body and enhance the immune system’s function by filtering out toxins and foreign substances. Since your lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump, we use the pathways in the body leading to the circulatory system for assistance.

Helpful for those suffering from: Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Venous Insufficiency, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and ailments preventing proper fluid balance and lymph flow. Reach out to to discuss your specific situation so we can design the best approach for your specific needs.
